How to Make Delicious Caramel

Instead of going out to buy caramel, simply make it from home. It’s not too hard to make and you will save yourself tons of money. Learn how to make this delicious treat without leaving the safety of your own home with this sure fire way to get you to make delicious caramel with ease.

There are not that many ingredients that you will need to make caramel. You will only need sugar and water: in a ratio of 12 tablespoons of sugar to 2 tablespoons of hot water.

Now, to start, you are going to need a pan. Try sticking to pans that are brighter, like a silver compared to a black. This is so it’s easier for you to tell when the caramel is going to burn, or what it’s color is at the moment. Heat the pan on medium high for a couple of minutes to warm it up. Once it’s warm, add your 12 tablespoons of sugar.

Leave the sugar until you see brown spots and the sugar starting to melt down. Once you see the sugar starting to melt, grab a wooden spoon and slowly start to mix it. As you continue to mix the sugar, it will start turning a dark brownish color. Keep stirring until all of the white sugar turns into that color. While you’re doing this however, make sure that none of the sugar is burning. If it starts to burn, lower the heat and continue to stir.

Once the entire batch has turned the dark brown color, turn off the heat and add your two tablespoons of water. Mix and continue to mix well until there’s no leftover water and you’re left with the same gooey substance you’ve loved as a kid. Let the caramel cool, because it will still be hot, and once it’s cooled down, shape it the way you want to and let it cool before you eat.
